Your Weekend Retreat Experience

Neuroscience of Trauma:

• Workshops to explore the effects of trauma on the brain and body. Discover brain based.​​ Approaches to support healing after trauma.

• Top-down approaches to help shift thought patterns, including cognitive Therapy (CBT), empowerment through language, journaling, mindful based cognitive therapy, guided meditation and art therapy.

• Bottom-up approaches to help regulate intense emotions. Experience somatic techniques and effective body-focused therapies designed to relieve the physical impacts of unresolved trauma.

 

• Explore the concept of the Window of Tolerance and discover strategies to support emotional regulation.

• The significance of establishing firm boundaries, understanding why they are essential and practical steps to implement them.

Breathwork and Meditation Sessions.

• Guided practices designed to release tension and foster inner peace​

• Techniques to reconnect with your breath, tapping into it as a source of strength, resilience and self-regulation.

Trauma informed Yoga for healing

• Guided practices designed to release tension and foster inner peace

• Techniques to reconnect with your breath, tapping into it as a source of strength, resilience and self-regulation.

Sound Healing

• Immerse yourself in the southing sounds of healing vibrations

• Sound baths and ceremonies to restore balance and harmony

Art Therapy

• Express and process emotion through creative expression

• Engage in healing art projects facilitated by experienced therapists

Investment: $300 per person. Reduced rate for those experiencing financial hardship.

• 3 days and 2-night accommodation at a purpose-built retreat centre. 

 

• Nutritious and healthy Vegetarian meals, snacks and teas. Dietary requirements are catered for.

 

• All retreat activities and workshops

 

• Use of all facilities including swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi

Nadine Taylor

Carmel Catanuto

Host. Nadine is a survivor of childhood abuse and intimate partner violence (IPV), is a qualified nurse and certified mental health first aider. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained through personal experience, trauma training, and neuroscience, creating a compassionate and informed approach to healing and recovery.

Carmel is a counsellor, art therapist, and Gestalt therapist with specialized trauma training. She takes a holistic approach to healing, integrating creative and therapeutic practices to support recovery and personal growth.

Jan Christie

Jan is a highly experienced counsellor and educator with two decades of expertise in domestic violence services, specializing in trauma-focused counselling and support.

Tarsila is a skilled sound and energy healer and a certified Qigong facilitator, specializing in holistic practices that promote balance and well-being.
